Pride and Prejudice

I surround my home with the things I love. Old books, Buddha statues, brass knick- knacks and after Valentines day.........gorgeous red roses :-)
Today, after the usual cooking and cleaning, I sat down with a cup of tea and one of my favorite classics, Pride and Prejudice. I could read only one chapter before reality set in, and yet I am not complaining :-) I have read this book a million times......... but can you ever have enough of the quintessential Mr Darcy :-) Did you know that Jane Austen wrote Pride and Prejudice in 1813 ? Yet, nearly 200 years later...... most of us are still enamoured by him? Hey......what can I say, I am a literature student and a bit of a dreamer :-)
Have you read the book ? I would love to know ? Here's wishing you a wonderful wednesday and a great week ahead.

I am joining Kim's blog for Wow us Wednesdays! and Cindy's blog for Show and Tell Friday! and Good life Wednesdays at A Beach Cottage and the party at Very Merry Vintage Style

I have not read that book. I am not a reader. I can't sit still that long. That is why I am always creating. Thanks for joining the party and good luck reading that large book.

Oh, how wonderful! I absolutely adore that book; it's one of my very favorites. I've read it several times online (via ProjectGutenberg), but I've never read a "real" copy that I could put my hands on and turn pages. I long to find a really awesome old bound copy to cherish. :)

I love the movie, too - the one with Keira Knightly. Haven't seen the British miniseries version, but it's on my Netflix. :)

I have all the movies but Pride and Prejudice is my favorite, I have to watch it at least once a month.
I don't have the patience to read a book.
Love your collection.

I've read Pride & Prejudice three times. I've also read Sense & Sensibility and just finished reading Emma. Pride & Prejudice was my favorite. I plan to read the remainder of the Austen books this year. My favorite movie is the one with Collin Firth. Second favorite is the one with Keira Knightley. I just bought the BBC Emma that was aired last year. My favorite.

I'm married to an English Literature professor, so not only have I read the book, but as his student so many years ago, he's the one introduced me to it, and taught the book in his class. So, it's a very romantic book for me. Love your setting here.

"most of us are still enamoured by him?" Being such a huge fan, did you just mention Jane Austen as 'him'!!!

Expressions : Thanks for visiting my blog. I was referring to Mr Darcy and not Jane Austen when I wrote "him"
