Fabulous Finds : My New Suzani Chair

This week's "Fabulous Find", even if I say so myself is something I actually picked up for my home :) Suzani chairs come with outrageous price tags and so I consider this a great buy!! This chair was a pretty good deal. Please bear with me as I share the story of how I ended up buying it.

I consider myself very lucky to have found this chair. I walked into the store and spotted it almost instantly. It had been brought to the front of the store just a few minutes before I walked in. My mom told me to look around the store but I could not make myself move from that spot :) I was trying to justify the expense in my mind. With hubby out of the country, I was having a harder time trying to convince myself. Anyway, I decided to think about it but then better sense prevailed and I put it on hold. It turned out to be the best decision. As soon as I showed interest in it so did a few more :) The store only had one piece and luckily I got it!!! However, like a good good and dutiful wife, I went home and discussed the matter on the phone with Mr MDC :)

Much to my surprise, hubby had a fairly mild reaction to my crush on the chair :) Guess it has something to do with the fact that our anniversary is this month!! To cut a long story short, we picked it up two days later. The chair is my anniversary gift from hubby and my parents!! At least I made it easier for everyone by picking my own gift :)

The chair is now part of my living room. I had to move a few things around to accommodate it but that was part of the fun too :)  I like to think that this was simply meant to be :)

Come Fly With Me : Provence

Hello there!! Come Fly with Me today to Provence, France! We are visiting a boutique hotel built using limestone surrounded by olive trees and lavender :) Sounds dreamy does it not?? This is a charming bed and breakfast with its own mill, house, chapel, sheepfold and wash house :)

The  Hameau des Baux  is situated in the heart of the in the heart of Alpilles in the southern part of France. This area is a vacation destination with many self-catering vacation homes in a quiet country setting.......this is Provence at its best!

For those of you who are art connoisseurs here is a bit of information about this area. The Alpilles were immortalized in art by Vincent van Gogh, who painted many images of the Alpilles' landscapes during his time in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence on the north side of the mountains.

I love the quaint old world charm of this hotel, and that feeling that you are stepping into some one's well loved home :)

Weekend Party!

It is a super hot weekend in my part of the world. 90 degrees and above breaks the heat record here :) I am feeling a bit under the weather today. However, with a day's rest I hope to bring you an action packed week on MDC :)
