A Legacy

Today is my Grandmother's birthday( Nani). She is no more....... but her legacy lives on............

I spent a large part of my life with her and she has been a great influence in my life. She was elegant, beautiful, wise and kind. I am proud to be her granddaughter! I surround my home with things that belonged to her, and it makes me feel happy and loved!!

I remember the first and only time I met your nani. I wore a special saree which I still refer to as "the one I wore to meet nani". She was a beautiful person, to whom elegance and charm came so easily.

Nani's are all so special. I was especially close to my nani too and still wear the kada she gave me when I left for college in the States.

How special to have enjoyed that sort of relationship with your Nani. My grandmother lived with us and we developed a very special bond that lasted until she passed at 93. I too have many of her personal items which mean so very much to me. Memories are to be cherished.

Oh Anu, thats a lovely post in memory of your Nani! My grandma too has some lovely stuff and every time I visit her, I raid her old cupboard to see if she has any more treasures. Your house is filled with beautiful stuff....
