Inkaterra La Casona, Cusco, Peru

Are any of you heading to Cusco, Peru anytime soon? I am not. However, I certainly enjoy my virtual trips to places on my wish list :-) The Inkaterra La Casona is a beautiful and exotic luxury boutique hotel that has me completely mesmerised!

My fascination is perhaps due to the history that surrounds this place. The Inkaterra La Casona  was built between 1585 and 1700. It is one of the finest remaining examples of a Spanish Colonial mansion in the city of Cusco. Due to various owners, it was rebuilt and modified over a long period of time. Thus it has a unique blend of many styles from different periods in history.  As the hotel's website aptly describes it. The hotel is "an elegant fusion of colonial and Inca culture".

Today the luxurious eleven suites are filled with antiques and exquisite architectural details. I love the feel of this place. It appears almost mystical and filled with old world charm.......a perfect getaway in my mind.

Are you getting swept away:-) Have a wonderful week ahead.
