Madeline Weinribs's Studio

Painter and Designer Madeline Weinrib's work has been written about in various magazines and featured on many blogs. Her style continues to fascinate me! She uses vibrant colors and opulent patterns and has a distinct global style. I adore this image of her studio featured in the New York Observer Home's Spring 2012 issue.

Her website has an amazing collection of furniture, pillows, fabrics and accessories for the home. I have a crush on this beautiful plum colored Ikat Hollywood regency wing back chair........

In case you missed this before, Madeline's studio has a collection of vintage Indian photographs. She has collected these during her travels. I can see Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman in the first picture and Pandit Nehru in the second:)

Tessera

I have been so inspired and mesmerised by Tessera's story that I had to share it with all of you....

Here goes, "Tessera’s inspiration comes from a long-standing Ambroson family holiday tradition. Each year, one member of my family gives the others a very special gift - a journey to a faraway place.
Each trip is a journey of discovery as we encounter spectacular landscapes, new ways of life, and inspiring people – each with a unique story to tell. The objects and artifacts that we have collected over the years help to bring a little piece of these extraordinary lands and their people into our lives every day, here at home. Through Tessera I am offering you the opportunity to experience many of the treasures from these intriguing cultures. Additionally a percentage of all Tessera's sales going to children's education in the remote villages of many countries, including Peru and India."

What a wonderful journey and a lovely tradition don't you think? Tessera's collection is both beautiful and mystical and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

From tableware and furnishings from Peru, antique Ikats from Uzbekistan, embroidered silk Afghan lumbar pillows range dating back 70 years.... and so much more, the Tessera collection takes my breath away!!
