Visualize Delhi Posters

Its funny how a line or in this case a poster can jog a childhood memory :) The United States has been home for me for the past 14 years. However, before I moved here, I lived in New Delhi. A city that remains close to my heart and is home even today!

When I was in high school, we lived in the cantonment area in Delhi ( an army base) which was very much in the city. However it was next to a green belt called the Ridge. The auto drivers were never ready to go there because it was isolated. They had a hard time finding passengers on the return. A lot has changed now but those days this was very much the quieter part of the city!

The words in the first poster sounds so familiar as I have heard them often while trying to get an auto to take me home!  The driver would always say that the meter is not working, so the fare would have to be negotiated. It would always be higher than what you would normally pay! An easy way to make more money :)

These lovely minimalist Delhi posters have been designed by Delhi based designers/art directors, Samrat Ray and Abhishek Prasad and you can view the entire collection here!

The various trips to Dilli Haat and Khan Market :)
