Haleakala
The drive to Haleakala National Park in Maui is hard to describe in words. A two hour journey took us from sea level to the summit at 10,023 feet. While driving towards the summit the scenery changed dramatically. Maui's beaches and the lush greenery seemed a million years away. Once Inside the park we drove into a desolate desert and complete wilderness. The winding road cut through the clouds and reached high into the sky. The sky was an ever changing canvas of beauty and drama. The reward was a stunning view of the volcanic landscape of Haleakala. I was not prepared for this amazing experience and it was truly mesmerising.

Glimpses
Glimpses from my home..the space I call my own. A painting in my living room by Chandan Chaudhary,my favourite Indian painter. The winter sun filtering through my living room window. A collection of old family wedding pictures. A splash of green against a tall chinese lamp. A photograph taken by me in my breakfast nook. Walk in and feel at home.....

Oahu..
An endless stretch of soft white sand. Majestic waves crashing against dramatic rocks. The myriad colours of the ocean, the wind rustling through the trees. The sand blowing in my face and the incessant chatter of my toddler. I am at Oahu's Waimanalo beach. This is one of my favourite beaches and I spent hours tring to capture its beauty.

Romance and Gelato in Amalfi....
Romance and Gelato in Amalfi....
The Amalfi coast in Italy holds a special place in my heart. I spent a two week holiday in Italy a few years ago. The bus ride from Sorrento along the Amalfi coast was the highlight of my trip. The beauty of the Amalfi coastline is extraordinary. The coast is dotted with lovely mediterranean style white-washed fishing villages. The road to Amalfi has been carved into steep rugged mountain cliffs that drops dramatically into the Mediterranean sea. The bus takes you along the edge of the cliffs and the vista below is stunning. Picturesque villas, lovely hotels and ancient churches have been built into the steep mountainside. They seem to hang precariously looking down at the water below. The turqouise blue of the sea mixed in with the lemon trees, grape vines, and colourful flowers give this place a magical touch.
Amalfi is a quaint little seaside village. This town, situated between the mountains and sloping down towards the sea is extremely charming. The narrow cobbled streets are lined with shops and cafes. It is a very Italian atmosphere. I had the best gelato in the world in the town's main square. I am a romantic at heart and for me there is no place like Amalfi. I look back fondly at the day I spent here. It is one of my most cherished travel memories.

Vantage Point
I recently got home after a lovely holiday in Hawaii. Its definitely paradise on earth. While driving around Oahu we found this hidden jewel just a few miles from Waikiki. The Pu'u 'Ualaka'a State Park has sweeping vistas of Oahu's south shore, Diamond Head, Waikiki, downtown Honolulu, and a glimpse of Pearl Harbor. The drive up the steep hill is rewarding as the view from here is breathtaking. I was mesmerised by the brilliant sunset from this vantage point.
