Come Fly With Me to France (Can Rigall)

France beckons with a trip to a medieval estate in the South of France. An Eco friendly hotel, the Can Rigall offers a vantage point for unrivaled views of the Pyrenees.  As you peer down the slopes looking eastwards, the Mediterranean beckons at your feet. Can Rigall gets 70 percent of its energy from renewable sources such as a windmill, solar energy and bio diesel. This beautiful property accommodates only twenty four guests at a time.

Here is what the owners have to say : Impregnated with nature, history and an elegant simplicity, our beautifully restored Can Rigall speaks of origins, honesty and grace"

Seclusion and beauty........the perfect combination in my opinion :)

"The Come Fly With Me" series on MDC is my attempt to bring you a collection of unusual, remote and beautiful properties around the world. I love these virtual trips and I hope so do you :)

Come Fly With Me to Kenya!!

Hello! Today I am taking you to an island in the Indian Ocean. Manda Bay is a small private lodge on Manda Island in Northern Kenya’s Lamu / Kiwayu archipelago.  An exclusive resort, the Manda Bay is the ultimate in luxury in a relaxed and informal setting.

The buildings in the resort have been built using palm and driftwood. This  seems to be the perfect place to run to.......far away from the madding crowd :)

Now switching back to reality at my end. I had a great Labor day weekend. Today was the first day of school for both my kids. This morning was certainly eventful and a shock to my system. No more late nights for me :) Thankfully the kids seem happy to get back to school!!

Hope your week is coming along well?

Come Fly With Me ( Spain )

Hello to the new week! I am back with the series Come Fly With Me :) Yes, I know I skipped last week. My apologies, I promise to be consistent in the future :) Click here to visit the first post in this series. Today, we are travelling to one of my favorite parts of the world - Malaga, Spain!!

The Cortijo El Carligto is a private Andalusian villa perched on a hilltop with views of the Mediterranean Sea. This place is a haven for people who want to get away from it all.....splendid isolation is what it represents :) The interiors are exquisite. Each and every corner appeals to the dreamer in me! Have you been swept away???

Here's wishing you a beautiful week ahead. Please don't forget to enter my Giveaway to win a 50 dollar gift card to the store HomeGoods!!

Come Fly with Me : Argentina

I am a dreamer at heart and I dream of new places everyday :) I am curious about the world and long to see and know more. Fortunately, I am married to someone who shares this passion.....infact he is a bit crazier and way more adventurous :)

There is so much of the world to see, yet I know that the two of us will try and conquer as much of the world as we can. I really hope my children grow up to enjoy this as much as we do. They have been pretty good so far!! We have taken them on endless road trips and long plane rides to new countries and different places.

Time and expense are two major factors that keep us from travelling all the time :) However, my wish list keeps on growing.......... and someday, I shall get there!!!

Argentina has been on my list for a while now. A few weeks ago I met someone who had travelled to Argentina. It was fun talking to him and the chat rekindled my desire to go there.  I was looking up some information about Argentina and I came across a beautiful property called House of Jasmines.

Come Fly with Me is a new series on MDC, where every week I will take you on vacation with me :) I hope you enjoy these virtual trips on MDC. I have blogged about hotels in the past but this will be more of a regular feature. I will try to bring you hotels that are both unusual and off the beaten track.

I am taking you today to visit the House of Jasmines in Argentina. " At the foot of the Andes mountains, the Fenestraz family have created a traditional boutique hotel filled with romance, beauty and charm. The House of Jasmines is a centuries-old mansion that has been converted into a luxurious retreat. I really like the interiors of this entire property.......come along and see for yourself :)

I really like the wrought iron grills, they remind me of my grandmother's home :)

Vaamika Island

There are so many beautiful places to visit in this world......where does one begin?? However, it is nice to create a wish list and keep it tucked away.......for someday :-)

Kerala, India has been on that list for a while now:-) I have been fortunate that I get to go back to India once a year.  Once my kids get older, I would love to take them around and visit a few places. There is so much to see in India itself that it could take a lifetime :-) Vaamika Island in Kerala seem like a prefect getaway.  Maybe I'll leave my kids behind for this one :-) Vaamika is your own private retreat in set in the backwaters of Kerala. Secluded and picturesque, its easy to see why Conde Nast Traveller India rated it amongst the 50 best new hotels in the world in 2012.

The resort also has a fascinating museum which houses a vast collection of South Indian sculptures, coins and other antiquities. Tempting...........huh??

La Pause ( A Desert Oasis)

I cannot help but love the desert :-) The stark and arid landscape has a beauty of its own. During my teens, I spent two years living in the middle of a desert. Being an army kid we moved around a lot. One of my Dad's posting was in a remote desert town in Rajasthan (India). My playground was a huge sand dune behind my house :-) Sand storms were part and parcel of every day life! It was truly a glorious life in the middle of nowhere :-)

These images of La Pause near Marrakech remind me of a time gone by and rekindle the love I have for the desert.  La Pause promises a simplistic way of life where the guest house walls are built using traditional mud and straw. Hammocks hung under olive groves, glorious views of the vast Moroccan wilderness and spectacular sunsets......what more can you ask for?

Sounds like the perfect getaway to me!

Nisanyan House

My first impression on discovering Nisanyan House was one of happiness. This place gives me the feeling that you are entering someone's well loved home. The courtyard itself looks like a delightful place to unwind and watch the peacocks go by. The charm of this property is that it feels like home, but it is really a hotel in Turkey. I can see myself completely relaxed here. A great place to get lost for a few days, read a few books, grab my favorite Rick Steve's guide book and plan the itinerary for my vacation in Turkey.

Nisanyan House Hotel is set in a remote rural village.  It is very close to Ephesus, one of Turkey's premier tourist hot spots. I quite like the story of this hotel. This property grew organically over the years with no planning. The original property only had three village houses. Today, there are two elegant inns, half a dozen rustic cottages, some  guestrooms, an extensive garden, a defense tower, a library, and much more.....

Intrigued?? I certainly am :-)

A Cave Hotel

Hello Monday! I like to kick off the new week dreaming of faraway places and taking a virtual trip :-) This time it is Turkey! My week has begun with incessant rain and cloudy skies and I am not pleased! However, these images from the Hezen Cave Hotel  proves to be a good distraction. Unique eclectic interiors, a stunning location and unusual architecture makes this hotel one of a kind!

What do you think??

Las Ventanas Al Paraíso

It is always a smart idea to start the week with gorgeous images of a faraway place. Sun drenched rooms, cerulean waters, chic and luxurious interiors.........you get the drift. We are in Los Cabos, Mexico at the Las Ventanas Al Paraíso. I am struck by the beauty of this property.........I do believe dreams are made of these :-)
I hope all the Moms out there had a great Mother's Day. It was a glorious two days in Seattle. Unfortunately, my baby girl is sick so we stayed indoors.  I spent mother's day being a mom and taking care of her!! Hopefully, she will be back to her bubbly self soon. My kids made me cards, bought me flowers, balloons and got me chocolates! It was a sweet and special day :-)

Have an awesome week!
