Memories of my first home

On this cold and snowy day........I am filled with memories of my first home. I fell in love with this gorgeous brick fireplace first......and then the house :-)

Till date when I think of a warm and cosy place.....I am reminded of this room. The excitement of doing up your first home and the memories that go with it.........the endless trips to furniture stores.....hubby cringing every time I brought it up :-) Decorating my son's nursery before his birth. My mom and hubby were my captive helpers......unfortunately for them, I chose to decorate in the middle of the night :-) The joy of bringing my son home from the hospital. The numerous parties with our wonderful friends back in the east coast.

Don't you feel that your first home is always the most special, no matter where you go?

I seem to be reminiscing a lot today and also rambling a bit.............so will end here :-) Happy almost Friday folks........... and have a great weekend.

Butterfly blues!!!

I have a few more pictures to share of my new nook:-) I recently bought four of these blue kettles to give to my son's teachers. I love the cute butterfly motif and the lovely shape. I now need to go pick one more, as one of them stays home with me:-) My parents picture, a pretty teapot, my favorite magazines and some flowers.....I am one happy blogger:-) My entry is a bit late for Colours Dekor's fabulous August table top. Patty...hope you can forgive me!! Better late than never right :-)

Ice Cream in the 1930's

My last trip to India, my mom gave me these gorgeous ice cream cups. They have been in my family since the 1930's. They originally belonged to my mom's grandfather. I absolutely adore them and like displaying them in my China cabinet. The cups are pretty and look as good as new even today. Maybe I should have a dinner party soon ........

Well, that might take a while.....so for now I shall just enjoy some yummy coffee ice cream with chocolate sauce in it :-)

Candlelight Mosaic

Its Friday!! My weekend may not turn out exactly as I had hoped.....however, I decided to do something fun. I created a mosaic of my favorite candlelight pictures from home. I love tea light and candles and I burn them often at home. They light looks pretty and gives me a sense of calm.
