Stories to Share (Creativity at its best)

I am always delighted to share creative ideas here especially if they come from readers and friends of MDC:) Today Reshma Sharma is sharing a wonderful, simple yet effective idea for the festive/ holiday season. In her own words

"Some glass bangles that I hardly wear are glad to see the light of the day and the light of candles too"

I absolutely love this idea. Reshma beautiful bangles look so festive with simple tea lights between them. This truly reiterates what I have been saying all along. You don't need to spend money on expensive things to give your house a fresh look for the festive / holiday season. A few sparkly bangles/bracelets from your dresser will do the trick:)

Brilliant idea, don't you think ? Reshma has recently created a page of Facebook to share her creative ideas and her beautiful home. Click here to visit.

Thank you Reshma for sharing your ideas on My Dream Canvas.

Stories to Share Part 1

It was a while back when I introduced a new series on My Dream Canvas called Stories to Share. Today, I am delighted to share the first story :) For those who are not aware of what this series is about.....here's a recap.

In every home there is something that is unique to you and your life. That memory, that special souvenir from a trip somewhere, a little trinket from a flea market or an antique store, an elegant curio from a store you love or an heirloom that has been passed down generations. Look around you..........there must be something that you own that has a story that goes with it. I would love to know about it :) Your story will be featured on my new series "Stories to Share". I firmly believe that these are the things that make your home uniquely you. Click a picture and send me your story.

It can be anything......pebbles/ shells from the beach........a leaf hidden inside your favorite book.......a cherished post card, an heirloom..............a photograph......whatever you like :) Don't keep such things tucked away in your drawer. They need a special space in your home.......bring them out, find a place for it and tell your story :)

This first story is being shared by Reshma Sharma, one of MDC's readers based in India. Reshma is an incredibly talented lady and after my numerous interactions with her, I can tell you that she is a wonderful person as well :)

Here's Reshma's story in her own words " Most of us love hoarding and collecting things that have a special meaning to us. Today, I am here to share a very special notebook with some wonderful recipes in it. This notebook has a very special place in my heart. When I got married, I asked my mom to give me all her wonderful recipes that  made our meals a delightful experience. Some recipes were my Dadi's (my paternal grandmother) and some were my mom's creations. I knew that I had married a foodie and I HAD to be good at cooking. Not that he asked me but it was something I wanted to be :)

Here's a picture of the cherished notebook that holds in it hundreds of recipes. Some of the recipes are really old so they are very valuable. These recipes hold a tradition that has been passed down generations. Hopefully one day I can do the same and pass on this wonderful book of treasures to my daughter :)

Here's Reshma's little book of fond memories....

What a lovely keepsake don't you think? Reshma has recently created a page of Facebook to share her creative ideas and her beautiful home. Click here to visit.

I hope you have enjoyed the first chapter of Stories to Share? I would love to hear your story:)  Please email me at anuseattle@gmail.com.

I am revisiting an old post and giving it a new twist :) In every home there is something that is unique to you and your life.  That special souvenir from a trip somewhere, a little trinket from a flea market or an antique store, an elegant curio from a store you love or an heirloom that has been passed down generations.

Look around you..........there must be something that you own that has a story that goes with it. I would love to know about it :) Your story will be featured on my new series Stories to Share. I firmly believe that these are the things that make your home uniquely you. Click a picture and send me your story. It can be anything......pebbles/ shells from the beach........a leaf hidden inside your favorite book.......a cherished post card, an heirloom, wall hangings, a photograph......whatever you like :) Don't keep such things tucked away in your drawer. They need a special space in your home.......bring them out, find a place for it and tell your story :)
