Festive Season Special : A Home in Coimbatore, India

Its time to kick of the Festive season here at My Dream Canvas. I have a series of posts lined up and hopefully you will love them as much as I do :) Today, we are heading to Coimbatore to visit the home of the mom of one of my flickr buddies :)  Meena Sriram's artistic photographs have been featured on MDC before! Meena sent me a few images of her mom's lovely home in Coimbatore a few days ago. I was blown away by the sheer beauty and simplicity of this home.

This first image is the perfect way to kick start the festivities...don't' you think?

Tea time......

A warm and and tastefully done up home is always a pleasure to walk into virtually :) Thank you for sharing! This mother -daughter duo is a treasure house of immense talent!!

Goodbye Summer Hello Autumn

This year is passing by at an alarming rate..... don't you think? I had a busy summer and we ended it with a lovely vacation. We travelled to Croatia via Paris and spent a very interesting day in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We flew back via Brussels and spent a day eating waffles and macaroons :) I have a series of posts lined up about my travels. There is  a hint of Fall in the air......the light seems to have changed. Although, I will miss the carefree days of summer, I am looking forward to all the prettiness Autumn brings with it!

For the pillow obsessed person I am, this delightful way of storing pillows in a wicker basket seems absolutely perfect!!

How have you been doing? I have missed you all.....

Fly With Me To Stockholm

Rooms that tell a story have always fascinated me! It is not about how much is in a room but what your eye settles on. For me, its this delightful gramophone in the image below.  I liked it instantly...... and then my eyes swept across the rest of the space and I was in love!
So here's a question for you today! When you first glance at a room either  in person or online....do you first notice an object in the space or the entire room?

What do you like about this lovely home in Stockholm?

Summer Musings & Alfresco Lounging :)

We are heading into the July 4th long weekend here in the United States. This year is going by really fast. I had made a few plans for this year and some of them have gotten off track! However, I hope to tackle them soon. Perhaps, by the end of the year I would have made some progress. This July, I am grateful that my parents are here with us for the summer break. I love watching my kids interact with my parents. They have their own unique relationship that is so enviable :) They have a number of fun things they do together, and it always makes me smile :)

We are heading off on a road trip soon and then in August to Europe. Traveling is such an integral part of our summer break. Since the kids have traveled with us extensively since they were little, they now look forward to it! I make them research the places we are visiting and after the trip they write about their experience. It makes for an interesting read!!

What are some of your summer family traditions ?

Today, I am sharing a few inspiring images from my favorite online magazine. This sure feels like summertime as I love alfresco dining! A book, a cool drink, a board game and a pretty hammock is all one needs to bask in the sunshine!

Here's wishing my readers here in the United States a Happy July 4th. Enjoy the long weekend and keep on smiling :)
