Trends Coming this Spring: Unique Wooden Watches by JORD & A Giveaway

Hello there! I have noticed off late , how much I have been drawn to natural elements. Wooden accents in particular seem to be dominating my home. My new dining table is made from reclaimed wood. I love the grains on it and the cracks and crevices. 

 JORD a company which makes authentic wood watches that are both handcrafted and sustainable reached out to me, I was certainly intrigued. JORD  watches are one-of-a-kind. Handcrafted from natural wood and sapphire crystal glass, they are beautiful, strong and totally unique.

I have been admiring these sleek wooden watches for a while on social media and so I am thrilled to own one now. I chose the Frankie Zebrawood and Champagne style watch.  The design is minimalistic and the watch looks sophisticated and elegant. The best part is that I feel that the watch can be worn by both men and women. JORD  (pronounced Yode) is based in St. Louis, where they we are constantly developing new designs. The watches are are a sophisticated mix of natural, and largely re-claimed materials, combined with quality movements and components.

I was curious to know more about the materials used to create this timepiece. The wood used in my watch is native to West Africa. Zebrawood offers a striking grain contrast and exceptional finish. Although the growth rings are very pronounced, the wood occurs naturally with both large grain and fine grain patterns. Zebrawood is considered to be a luxury hardwood!  Exciting :) I find these details fascinating as its so much nicer when you know the origins of the product you love!!

I really like the craftsmanship of my watch. I am pretty sure this is going to become one of my favorite accessories. While there are many watches out there, the wood used in all of JORD's watches makes it so eye catching.

A Giveaway and The MDC Casa!

 Hello! I have some thing here which would hopefully shake off your Monday blues. It is a Giveaway to thank my readers all over the world :) A giveaway to celebrate MDC's 6th Birthday :) My love for tribal patterns and every one's enthusiasm for Suzani's is what this giveaway is about! I am offering a set of 4x4 tiled coasters with suzani motifs. I fell in love with these coasters on Etsy and ordered them for this giveaway! However, before I share more details about this exciting giveaway, here are a few images of my home which I took this weekend!
My house is now 9 years old and in desperate need of some "tender loving care". Paint touch ups, scraped doors, nail holes, scratched floors, yes it is all there! This spring, hubby and I are rolling up our sleeves and getting to work :) Its going to be slow and we will make mistakes but hopefully we will fix most of the issues :)

Designer Kathryn Ireland's Home and The Giveaway Winner

Giveaway Winner and A Tea Party

Jaypore Giveaway and Weekend Wrap Up

Hi! I am popping in to say a quick Hello and to wish you a Happy Monday. I have some exciting stuff lined up for this week. The most important one is the Jaypore Giveaway which in on till April 5th. Happy March and MDC Turns Five!!

Hello there! It is March already and my favorite time of the year. At my Casa we get to celebrate two birthdays this month :)  My Dream Canvas turns 5 this month and I get to celebrate my birthday as well :) I have a list of fun stuff lined up for this month including a Giveaway!!! 

My Dream Canvas is a dream come true for me and thank you each and every one of you for sharing this dream with me!! The image below is my favorite photograph. I take a gazillion pictures almost everyday but this one tops my list. I took this picture on a rainy day at the water temple in Bali. The sketch effect of course is by the very addictive Waterlogue app. I have this photograph framed and hung above my fireplace at home :)
