Introducing Maloos Crafts

Nothing brings me more joy than featuring artists on My Dream Canvas. It is amazing how much creativity and talent is out there waiting to be discovered. Today I am featuring the work of Maloos Khonsarian of Maloos Crafts on Etsy.

In her own words I am a mother, a photographer, and a creator! Patterns are my passion and I feel inspired every time I come across a distinctive design. If it’s on a dress, I will try it on! If it’s on a vase, I will find a home for it on a shelf. If it’s on the wall of a beautiful monument, I will incorporate it in my photographs, paintings, prints, collages, and jewelry designs and I will apply it onto everything around me from trays and cheeseboards to vintage furniture.
Each item has a unique design and is one of a kind, just like you"

Maloos uses Middle Eastern designs to create her pieces of art. Resin and wood are the two primary mediums she uses to create these lovely pieces. Each item in her store is unique and will be the only one in existence!

This delightful cheeseboard is my personal favorite :)

To view more of her exquisite designs visit her Etsy store and follow her on Facebook.

The intricate patterns and the details in her handcrafted pieces are amazing!!

Thank you Maloos for sharing your work with the readers of My Dream Canvas.

Anek Designs on Etsy

I am a cushion/ pillow hogger :) I absolutely adore cushion/pillows and simply cannot resist them. My cream couch in the living room is an ever changing canvas. I  try and change the pillows on them as often as I can. In my opinion, mixing up pillows in a myriad hues on a neutral backdrop can make a room come alive!

Kanika Bahl of Anek Designs is a gal who gets me :) Her designs seem to speak to me the instant she updates her store!! I have blogged about Anek Designs before on MDC. What can I say there is a connection :) I have bought stuff from her store before and plan to do so in the future!!

Stop by Anek Designs on Etsy and prepare to be tempted. Her new collection of Kantha bedspreads are gorgeous as well! Kanika ships international from India.

The SultanShop : Vintage Suzanis

My Etsy browsing continues this weekend :) The design world continues to be enamored with Suzani's and I am no exception :) I just spotted this vintage Suzani's at the SultanShop. I actually liked quite a few of them. They are different from the usual patterns and colors that one usually gets to see. A genuine Suzani is an expensive purchase in my opinion. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that quite a few of the Suzani's at this store are under $100. Now, that is a good price for a Suzani!

Visit the SultanShop and prepare to get tempted. The store ships worldwide from Uzbekistan. Etsy is a fun place to browse and shop without getting up from the couch :)

Fabulous Finds : Charan Creations on Etsy.

Charan Creations is a shop on Etsy that sells hand carved wooden stamps. By selling these stamps online, the owner Charan from Toronto helps sustain livelihood for a family of artisans in India. The family has been in this trade since 1912......nearly five generations! It is truly a great initiative!

I have seen a number of online stores selling hand carved wooden stamps. However, the collection at Charan's creations is the prettiest I have ever seen. I think these stamps make wonderful gifts as well :) Here are my favorites......

The peacock is so beautiful and regal......

Oh! so pretty!

I love the Goddess......very unique!

Cate Parr

I am completely astounded by the beauty and creativity of Cate Parr's oil and watercolour paintings. Cate Parr is an artist/illustrator born and educated in England and is now living in LA.

While its so hard to pick just a few of her paintings to feature here, these are definitely my favorite. Maybe I am drawn to them because these are illustrations of Indian brides but the detailing in them is fantastic.

View her entire collection on Etsy at silverridgestudio and prepare to be amazed....

Here is  an illustration of the Indian actress Aishwariya Rai. This is from a series of Cate's work inspired by the culture, colour and beauty of India.
