I wish my weekend could look as dreamy as this.......alas I have tonnes of spring cleaning to do and we are heading for some stormy weather as well.  However, I can certainly wish you a lovely weekend filled with magic and some day dreaming.....

Friday Musings

Here's wishing you a beautiful weekend ahead! I have not been blogging regularly as I am working on the new collection to be launched soon at The Shop At My Dream Canvas! 

I also have family visiting so its been busy!  Fall is in the air..... rust, yellows and orange hues are slowly appearing outside my window. I like to bring these shades into my decor as well. Little changes to welcome Autumn :)

The weather is changing! The leaves are back on the trees, the days are stretching, the sun is shining and the promise of summer is upon us :) I could spend all my time sitting on this chair without a care in the world!

My Vacation Home :)

Do you dream of having your owning your own vacation home? I do :)

This delightful home overlooking the Pyrenees comes pretty close to my idea of a vacation home. Its rather beautiful in a charming and rustic way!

Here is my checklist for my imaginary vacation home :

1. Cozy and cute but with enough room for family and friends :)
2. Bright and airy
3. Scenic location, (beach or mountains) is fine, I am not all that picky :)
4. Large kitchen with an orchard and a vegetable garden ( Hey! in my dreams I get to be extremely demanding)
5. Fireplace is a must!
6. Books and books galore......

I could go on and on.....but you get the drift :)

An Autumn Weekend

Autumn is here to stay in my part of the world :) Misty mornings, the gentle sound of leaves falling to the ground, the rustle of the leaves under my boots, the golden light when the sun comes out............. cider, pumpkins, festivals and so much more! I am looking forward to all of it! I have some travel coming up in the next few months. Its going to be get busy and exciting here at My Dream Canvas! So stay tuned!

Hello there! Thank you all for your lovely comments about my my home featured on Jaypore. The MDC Facebook page and my inbox is filled with likes and comments and that surely made my day:) I am really touched by the article and the lovely words used to describe my home!

As we head into the new week  there is lots in store for you. July promises to be an exciting month! Today, I bring you a few images of a short road trip we took on Sunday. While I enjoy design and decor, I love travelling, the outdoors and road trips even more. Nothing pleases me more than to head out with my family. The Pacific Northwest is stunning and these places are a short two hour drive from home. Makes for a good short escape from reality :) 

Blue skies, mountains, a glacier fed lake and winding country roads made for an incredible day!

Weekend Retreat

I spotted this delightful space on Micasa recently. This would make for a stunning weekend retreat right a home. Sitting here with family and friends.....endless chatter, good food, yummy drinks and laughter all around :)

This is the kind of image I need to see to make me smile!! What a lovely way to kick start the weekend. Colorful pillows and my favorite auto come together to make my day :) The Dilliwala that I am, I spent many years taking autos around Delhi, when I was in college and later when I was working :)

Weekend Inspiration : An Artists home in Mexico

It is Friday evening.......my favorite time of the week :) The weekend looms large with endless possibilities. Okay I tend to romanticize things once in a while :)I have a pretty regular weekend coming up with endless tasks but who cares.....for now I can day dream :)

This is the home of Aldo Chaparro an artist based in Mexico city. Now this would be the perfect space to spend a weekend afternoon. Endless chai, books, friends, family and endless chatter......or if you prefer solitude, a paintbrush or some poetry........whatever your heart desire. As for me, I am loving this look today!!

Weekend Moments and Instagram

Hi there and a Happy New Week to you. I would like to greet you with a hot cup of tea :) I love everything about this image. From the heart, to the tea set to that book :) My weekend was rather eventful. My little one has been down with a bad cold that refuses to go away. She is five and keeps us on our toes :) I worked on my fist DIY project with hubby! We actually managed to change the upholstery of the breakfast nook dining chairs. I know this may not be such a big deal for you DIY Divas out there but for me it was, and it felt great :) I shall share the pictures soon.

Now back to this pretty cup of tea :)

To humor my little one we drove 20 minutes from home to see this....... She loves ferry boats and the water. It was a cloudy day and I took this picture from my phone! We drove there and back and she was all smiles :)

Sunday breakfast is a big deal in my house. Always has been since I was a child in my parents home. Today, we sat around the table and chatted for hours. It was the best part of the day listening to my children chatter incessantly :)

Shopping Finds "Love"

Happy Friday to all of you! I found this cute tin sign for my home today! I have been looking for something like this for a while. I so am excited!! I have a busy weekend ahead! I am not complaining, it promises to be good.......the fun kind :) 

What about you? Call me crazy, but I usually keep Saturdays as fun days.... and Sunday is when we run the errands and handle the chores. For a while we were doing only one or the other! Sigh!! However, off late this seems to be working for me and my family!! Do you have a weekend formula.....do share? I am sending some " Love" your way today....

Friday Happiness At Home!!

Fridays are always special!! It is more so, when I wake up to see some sunshine filtering through. Need I remind you that I live in Seattle :) I blissfully sat and enjoyed my cup of tea this morning with the sun on my face :) Starbucks has recently opened in India. While I was there I picked up this lovely mug....pretty cool huh?
