My Sunny Home :-)

When you live in a city where 6 months of the year it's dull, grey and wet, you get a wee bit obsessed with sunshine :-) I woke up Saturday morning to see my home bathed in sunlight.  Seeing the light streaming in through the windows made my day. Lights, camera.......action, I was all set as I began clicking away! The same house looked different somehow :-)

For all you lovely people who don't have this problem of seeing the elusive Sun, you might not totally relate to this. However, please indulge me :-)

Hurrah for the Weekend!

Yay.... its Friday and sunny :-) It is also officially the first day of Fall! Do you have some fun plans for the weekend? I have nothing on the agenda accept the usual errands..... but I really don't mind! Sometimes, its nice to have a weekend with absolutely nothing to do :-) I might head out with the family and enjoy the  outdoors and the glorious weather before the rains finally set in!

On a more serious note. A lot of bloggers are facing plagiarism. Here's a request....please come up with your own ideas and DO NOT COPY other people's work without permission or due credit to the original source!

We all put in a lot of hard work and creativity into our work. Don't you think that deserves respect??

Its Friday!

A New Week

Wow!! Its been a eventful Sunday to say the least. I am watching the news as I write this and its definitely a day for the history books here in the States. On the home front, it was a lovely weekend as we had two days of endless sunshine!! I begin this week with "smiles" and I think this beautiful photograph by Stephanie Rausser aptly conveys my feelings :-)

May promises to be an eventful month. There is a big birthday coming up and a dream trip.......I am so excited!

Here is a shot of my family room................ I love the sight of the sun streaming in:-) We drove up to the lake to enjoy the lovely weather. The kids had a lot of fun running around. By the way, it was not all fun this weeked. Hubby and I did manage to clean out two closets. Its been on the back burner for a while and after dropping the stuff off at Goodwill we both felt great! The spring cleaning saga continues..............but we are making inroads.

Good morning Monday

A new week begins.......my day is cold and dreary! However, I can't complain....this weekend we saw ample sunshine. A trip to a park with iconic views of the city, some good food and of course retail therapy......Sunday was hectic but fun!

A few orange tulips.......heralds the arrival of spring! Trust me, my breakfast nook is never this clutter free. Since I did clean up the mess, I managed to take a few pictures. Everything does look better with some sun around:-)

Happy Monday!!! My weekend was action packed to say the least but a lot of fun. A party with close friends, some sunshine, a trip to the lake and a bit of clean up at home!! Friday Dreams

A beautiful morning, a steaming cup of coffee, sitting on my balcony........perched over craggy cliffs looking down at the sea below. An outdoor lunch under the trees......followed by a nap!!! This is my plan for the weekend!

Friday Magic

Its almost Friday and I can hardly wait!! Its going to be a busy weekend for me and the coming week will be busy too. A birthday party for my 5 yr old and a new school for him as well. I am nervous!!! The party will be fun. He has told me that he has a theme in mind and a list of friends :-) These kids sure grow up fast!!! For now, I am going to enjoy the weekend and worry about the rest later..........

A Friday Morning

Its Friday and my morning was quiet for a change. One kid in school and the other slept in till quite late. Its a cloudy day today, and after numerous sunny days, I really don't mind it :-) More than often, I feature my formal living room on my blog. However, today is different :-) My family room is for my eyes only as its normally a mess!! Toys scattered everyone, a few spills here and there, maybe even a crayon mark on the wall:-) However, its the most important room in my house. Its far from perfect and yet we love it! We recently bought new couches. I gave in to my husbands desire to get something sturdy and practical. So we now have leather couches with recliners! I had to add a dash of color to it so I went shopping. I found this turquoise throw and I am so in love with the color and the design. I am sitting here with my cup of tea and enjoying the brief solitude before it gets busy again....

A Friday and Seascapes

Yay!!! Its Friday! I officially have a vacation hangover :-) Kauai was mesmerising and I am miss being there. I love being home too...sound confused don't I ?? Hope you have some fun plans for the weekend? Enjoy.....and don't forget to sign up for my Giveaway!

A touch of Bavaria close to Home

Last weekend we drove to Leavenworth. A pretty little town just two hours away from home. Leavenworth is a quaint replica of a Bavarian village, tucked away in the foothills of the Cascade mountains. The endless array of flowering bushes added to the charm, and beauty of the town, and made the day almost magical.

Walk down the street with me....................and enjoy this picturesque town with its idyllic setting.

Seattle Moments!

A magical weekend ends for me, but I have lots to share! I am convinced that there is no city as stunning as Seattle on a gorgeous day! As a family we love to drive around the city, and thats exactly what we did on Saturday. Queen Anne Hill is my favorite spot in the city. This is where Seattle's amazing beauty comes alive..................

The stately mansions, the winding streets, the views of downtown dominated by Space Needle, and if you are lucky, Mt Ranier! On Queen Anne Hill there is a small patch of land called Kerry Park. Here is where you can get truly iconic views of Seattle. I walked up and down the streets clicking pictures in an attempt to capture this perfect day.

The views took my breath away......it was almost as if I saw the city for the first time.


To add to the beauty of the day, I watched a newly maried couple drive away in a stunning white Rolls Royce....sigh!!

The flowers blooming are another story for another day, but here's a preview :-)
