Hello November

Wow! I am in shock that it is actually November. Winter comes knocking and in my part of the world, it is going to be a long one :) This year has whizzed past me and the last two months of the year is going to be extremely busy as well. My daughter's birthday is next week and November is all about Diwali and Thanksgiving in my home. It is going to be an exciting time!

Do you like winter? Are you gearing up for all the festivities? I plan to share some new ideas and posts very soon. I want my readers to come together with me to share ideas, pictures and holiday inspiration right here at MDC.

Lets Talk Spring...

We are clearly not heading for Spring in my neck of the woods. I am actually looking at snow outside my window :-) However, it is March and my favorite month of the year so lets talk Spring, shall we :-)

The barren trees make way for the pretty green leaves .....the lovely sight of flower buds getting ready to bloom......longer days.....sunnier skies....hmmm.....so much to look forward to!

On the home front, does your house get a spring makeover? For me, it is not really a makeover but I do move things around to get a new look for the season. My color for this season is Turquoise. It has been a favorite for a while but it seems to pop up more as I welcome Spring :-)

I would love to know what is your color this Spring???

Hello to the New Week

It was a busy weekend and it just flew by :-) I am watching the Oscars and enjoying a quiet Sunday evening. The sun came out briefly and put on a spectacular show! I love the play of shadow and light that fills my house on days like today. We experienced some very strange weather today! We got rain, snow, hail and sunshine all in one day. Now, that's the Pacific Northwest for you :-)

December and a Wedding!

Hello there! I did not want December to come and go without me saying Hello to my favorite people :-) Wow, this year has flown by and for me so will this month! My brother's wedding is ten days away....yipee:-)


My parents house is a hub of activity....happiness and chaos filled days as the countdown begins!! I am also working on some gorgeous home tours and have not forgotten my baby,"The Shop at My Dream Canvas". I promise you a fun and exciting new year at MDC. Hi! I am just popping in to say a quick Hello :-) Its been a glorious few days in Seattle filled with abundant sunshine.

I have endless chores to tackle on the home front and also prepare for the Harvest Festival at the Country Village in Bothell. I am pleased to announce that the Shop at My Dream Canvas will make its debut at the Harvest Festival on October 8th and 9th 2011. For all my local readers and friends, I am counting on you to be there!! It is my first ever participation at an Art and Craft Fair. I am super excited and extremely nervous!!

My Weekend and a New Week...

Hello there!! Hope your weekend was fun? Mine was busy, fun and sunny......yes we are a bit obsessive about the weather here at My Dream Canvas :-) Hubby got back from a business trip, we saw glorious views of Mt Rainier, I bought fresh flowers from Pike Place Market, enjoyed mom's delicious cooking and spent time with family visiting from California........that was my weekend in a nutshell!

Hello Wednesday and an update!

Hi! I am popping in to stay a quick Hello!! Here, its wet, cold and dreary and summer seems very far away. Hope your day is brighter than mine!! However, on another note.....I am elated!! My parents are visiting from India and very little bothers me these days. I am being pampered and spoilt silly, so I have no complaints :-) My mom is cooking up a scrumptious meal as I type away.....and as you can see I am distracted :-) We have some fun road trips planned this summer and I am praying for some better weather.


Now for an update on the "Shop" at My Dream Canvas. Its not a figment of my imagination :-) I have been procrastinating the last few months but now I plan to get it up and running soon. Do wish me luck....... I promise you a preview in a few weeks!!

Weekend of Celebrations.

This weekend was my husband's birthday and Mother's day all rolled into one. It was a lot of fun and we all enjoyed it immensely. It began with a quiet birthday celebration with cake and flowers at home followed by a visit to the Space Needle. We dined at the Sky City revolving restaurant and the views were amazing. The kids of course were thrilled watching the floor move :-) I bought the most beautiful roses for the "birthday boy", though it was more for me! I guess.....husbands too can be showered with flowers once in a while!!

It was a weekend of celebrations.........here are a few of my memories in pictures!!

Good morning Monday

A new week begins.......my day is cold and dreary! However, I can't complain....this weekend we saw ample sunshine. A trip to a park with iconic views of the city, some good food and of course retail therapy......Sunday was hectic but fun!

A few orange tulips.......heralds the arrival of spring! Trust me, my breakfast nook is never this clutter free. Since I did clean up the mess, I managed to take a few pictures. Everything does look better with some sun around:-)

Snow day

Its a snowy day. There is not a lot of it..... but then snow at sea level, that's big for us here in the Pacific Northwest :-) I am taking a snow day break :-) Hubby is home, I can hear my kids incessant chatter :-) All is well in my world! I am enjoying the view outside with endless cups of tea :-)
