Hello September

I had a crazy morning, one kid packed off to Pre-K and the other to Third Grade. The alarm was a complete shock to my system. Lunch boxes to be found, backpacks that were "fab" last year are no longer "cool" this year :) There was last minute shopping for school supplies.....no matter how much I plan, there is something missing!! The endless car line this morning will take some getting used to!! I shall miss my little babies and their incessant chatter :) Thankfully my parents are here so the house does not feel empty!

The picture above is from this weekend. We took the kids to see these two historic ships - including one used in the filming of "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl". I have to say that I enjoyed it as much as my kids :)

I spotted this lovely room in El Mueble and had to share it with you. I love the light and the flowers........it looks so warm and inviting.

Here's wishing you a beautiful week ahead.........

A Trip To Ikea and a Holiday Weekend

I have been looking for a house plant for my living room for months now. Finally I found it at Ikea for an incredible price. This plant is called the Pachira Aquatica. I am hoping that this beautiful plant stays happy in my home :) I have not had much luck with houseplants! I am keeping my fingers crossed about this one. We are heading towards a holiday weekend here in the States. I am signing off to spend some quality time with family and to enjoy the last few days of summer.

I hope you have a beautiful weekend wherever you are! If any of you out there have some information about this houseplant.... please ...please do share your experience with me!

Verandah Love

I have a thing for Verandahs. I would love to have a house which has a verandah wrapped around it :) A place to spend time with family, entertain friends, watch the sunrise, hear the birds chirping, read the newspaper, admire the sunset, enjoy the pitter-patter of rain, count the stars.....I could go on and on :)

A few of the houses I lived in had verandahs and so did my Grandmothers home. These two images evoke some wonderful memories. I have not been regular with blogging this week, its something that I hope to rectify soon. I have had a crazy few days and I am exhausted. Sometimes its nice to step away and come back rejuvenated.

Keep on smiling and see you around :)

Shibori Cushion and Dahlias

Good morning!! Its been a crazy weekend at home. Endless cooking, endless chatter, smiles and laughter, a birthday and so much more! I need another weekend to recuperate from this one :) I am popping in to say a quick hello. I have missed you :) My new Shibori cushion and Ikat bolster by Rajee Sood has found its new home. It has travelled thousands of miles from India. My love affair with Dahlias continue.......especially these with the burgundy hues!

Here's wishing you a beautiful week ahead. Stay tuned for some fun times at MDC :)
